Solutions for National Sciences

World-class technology systems enable US scientific research organizations

US scientific research affects the lives of every human on the planet. Our nation’s scientists are the most highly educated and sought after researchers world-wide. The contribution of U.S. Scientists towards quality of life within the United States and throughout the world cannot be overstated. They have had a profoundly positive affect in areas such as the development of alternative energy, monitoring the oceans to maintain a healthy food supply, alerting the world to impending weather conditions, and much more.

Recruiting, supporting and retaining science’s top practitioners requires the purposeful use of technology to meet both individual and agency needs. High Performance Computing (HPC) is capable of very fast, complex computational analysis. Because of the nature of this technology, it can be quite costly to purchase and maintain. Unified secure networks allow the national sciences organizations to share and draw from HPC equipment that is maintained centrally, lowering the cost for all. Unified communications enables scientists throughout the network to collaborate on new ideas and findings. IP telephony and mobility solutions allow the scientists to be available and easily reached by their colleagues, regardless of their location.

Energy
Scientists at the Dept. of Energy, its national laboratories and affiliated University programs have enormous communication and computing requirements. To support America’s nuclear defense and energy research requirements, Dept. of Energy scientists require elaborate HPC systems, highly scalable network infrastructures, and world class unified communications systems.

NASA
Researchers and scientists at NASA’s space centers and laboratories have no less a need for unified infrastructure, security and communications than those at the Dept. of Energy. And in point of fact it is NASA’s requirement that those needs be met both here on Terra firma as well as in deep space.

Commerce
Comprised of scientists, statisticians and researchers from twelve different bureaus, the US Dept. of Commerce must support highly diverse technology requirements. Commerce people track the weather (NWS), establish Information Assurance standards (NIST), manage fisheries resources (NOAA) – and much more. As never before, today’s Commerce personnel require highly mobile data, voice and video communications – anytime and anywhere.

The LEVERAGE Advantage
LEVERAGE has been working closely with our National Science agencies to deploy key technologies for improving their existing processes. We have successfully implemented unified systems architectures that scale to meet the needs of our nation’s scientists now and into the next decade. LEVERAGE selects key technologies from highly regarded vendors based on customer need. We then employ our LEVERAGE integration model to build customer-specific unified solutions that will stand the demanding test of time.

Our unified implementations focus on:

  • Modernizing IT infrastructure within the Data Center
  • Unified Communication and Collaboration
  • Maintaining Proactive Physical and Digital Security
